Even though there is no blood or gore depicted on screen, the dark settings, eerie music, and (of course) the terrifying appearances of the ryokan's ghost, may frighten younger players.

Got sick of playing side games with one of the characters for every little thing. This game is the scariest game yet in the Nancy Drew series, with plenty of tense moments and startling encounters. I enjoyed the atmosphere of this game but eventually the annoyances got to be too much and I gave up and watched a video of the ending. Most of the game is a little girl forcing you to play flash games with her to get glow sticks so you can look around the basement. Graphics are on low end and scare is not very much at all. I think most people cant solve some puzzles by themself. Once Nancy had her assignment and met the characters, the storyline didn't progress. version or optional update.Having to redo puzzles to enter the secret locations was too much and sucked the fun out if it for me. This would also be nice to see in an alt. To start viewing messages, select the forum that you want to visit from the selection below. I do understand how difficult and expensive it is to do this, though. Nancy Drew Adventure Series Shadow at the Water's Edge If this is your first visit, be sure to check out the FAQ by clicking the link above. The characters and their movements are awfully stiff. The model and rigging quality is pretty expected considering the release date of this game, but it would also be wonderful to see an update.

If not, I'd appreciate an alternative version or optional update with more respect to the language. The sheer number of puzzles, and the difficulty associated with them, keeps the game challenging from start to finish, but it may be too difficult for some.

It could easily just be me, but until I get to the credits, I don't know how to check to see if the voice actors and actresses for the Japanese characters are native speakers. The Japanese accent sounds forced, honestly. Expert reviews of kids apps, video games, websites, and tech toys. Some criticisms of the production I have involve the models, rigging, and voice acting. I did not know the white rectangles in the folder in Nancy's room were usable envelopes until the guide said so, nor did I understand that I had to mail the finished Mega Sudoku with them by putting them in and dropping them off at the front desk. One criticism of the actual gameplay I have involves the envelopes. The exotic and beautiful Japanese setting adds a breath of fresh air to the series, allowing players plenty of opportunities to immerse themselves in Japanese culture and learn a thing or two. The characters feel real, the story makes sense, and I've only needed a guide once! I purchased this game because I remember my mother playing it when I was a young child, and I'm so glad I did. At the time of purchase, I have not yet completed the game, however I think I've experienced enough to give a good review, seeing as I've played for 20 hours now.
